About Us

Where we've come from

The Choir is deeply rooted within Folkestone's community and has been an advocate for sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ through music and singing and also through supporting local charities and churches across the town.

Founded in the 1950's by Paul Powell the choir was first known as the 'Folkestone Free Church Choir'. 40 years later the choir began a new chapter of its life as the 'Agape' choir under the direction of Brian Cunningham.

Where we're going

In January 2018 the choir took on a new Musical Director, Sean England, and to celebrate the start of it's latest chapter, the choir changed it's name to the 'Vita Nova' choir (New Life).

Now with Sean at the helm and with his vast experience of directing, writing and working with a variety musicians, vocalists and churches, Vita Nova is excited about its future and the journey it is going on.
